For fans of B. K. Borison and Sarah Adams comes a cheeky, small-town romantic comedy about finding yourself in the weeds . . . only to find love, too.
It took exactly twenty-four hours for Atlanta publicist Emma Walters's life to go from near-perfect to a monumental disaster. One day to break up with her boyfriend, get fired and inherit a farm. All that's left is for her to take the still-smoking remains of her dignity and flee to her new farm in Green Acres, Georgia.
However, Emma's new country life is anything but peaceful. The quirky locals seem to inexplicably dislike her, and farming proves way messier than she expected. Adding to her frustration is Dan Pednekar, the farm's infuriatingly handsome manager, who doubts her ability to handle even the simplest tasks.
Emma soon discovers that the farm isn't exactly what it seems. It doesn't sell anything, making her wonder if it's just a glorified petting zoo or if Dan is hiding something much bigger. With suspiciously named shops like Four and Twenty Blackbirds lining Main Street, it's clear that the whole town might be in on a secret.
But when the farm—and the livelihood of the townsfolk—is threatened, Emma must come up with a plan to save it. Because when you farm around, it's just a matter of time before everyone finds out.

Eden (Gingerbread Kisses) puts a bold and sassy twist on small-town romance tropes in this adorable rom-com. Publicist Emma Walter’s picture perfect life is upended when she’s fired from her Atlanta PR firm and dumped by her college sweetheart. She heads to the farm she recently inherited from her estranged grandparents to regroup. Unfortunately, she’s not the only one in residence; she must share the space with the farm’s sexy manager, Danesh “Dan” Pednekar, who simultaneously infuriates and turns her on. Dan, like the rest of the prickly residents of Green Acre, Ga., loved Emma’s grandparents and conspires to keep secret from Emma that their primary crop was marijuana. When Emma learns of the deception, however, their budding relationship may not survive. Eden creates easy chemistry between her polar opposite leads while Emma’s emotional arc of learning to ask for help and let others support her adds heart. Simultaneously sweet and steamy, this love story has plenty of charm. Agent: Keisha Mennefee, Honey Magnolia.

Emmaline Walter inherits a farm that she knows nothing about--particularly not the fact that it secretly is a marijuana grow site. She has much to discuss with the hot farm manager Dan in this small-town rom-com from Eden, who is making the move from self-publishing to a big publisher. Prepub Alert.

A publicist inherits her estranged grandparents' farm--and discovers that the town's residents are hiding a big secret. Emmaline Walters is a high-powered publicist in Atlanta--or she was, until one mistake leads her boss to fire her. On the same day, she breaks up with her long-term boyfriend, a budding politician. She's jobless and adrift, but there's one saving grace: She just inherited a farm in rural Green Acres, Georgia. Emma hadn't spoken to her grandparents in years because of drama between them and her mother, but they left her their charming farmhouse in an equally charming town. The town's residents, however, are openly hostile to Emma--and Emma is almost too close for comfort to Danesh Pednekar, the farm's manager, who lives in the attic of the farmhouse. This is the classic "big-city-girl-inherits-a-farm" story that has inspired many a Hallmark movie, but Eden adds an interesting twist: The farm is growing medical marijuana, and the whole town's ecosystem depends on the crop. Soon, Emma finds herself happily ensconced in the quirky world of Green Acres, and in an idyllic relationship with Dan. But when the farm comes under threat, Emma has to figure out how to save the place--and the people--she's unexpectedly grown to love. Eden creates a cozy world in Green Acres, and although some plot lines aren't explored as much as they could be (the resolution happens almost a little too easily), this small-town romance is still fun to read and features plenty of steamy scenes. A sweet and sexy romance, perfect for readers who want a Hallmark movie but with more spice.

Eden's (Cherish the Goddess) latest follows Atlanta publicist Emma Walters, whose life goes from near-perfect to a disaster in 24 hours. In just one day, she broke up with her boyfriend, got fired, and inherited a farm--all she can do next is pick up her shredded dignity and flee to her new property in Green Acres, GA. Unfortunately, her new life is less than idyllic. The eccentric locals seem to dislike her, and running the farm proves more complicated than expected. Adding to her frustration is Dan Pednekar, the attractive farm manager who doubts Emma's ability to handle even simple tasks. Emma suspects the farm isn't exactly what it seems, but she grows close to the residents of Green Acres. When their livelihoods are threatened, she devises a plan to save them. Narrator Wesleigh Siobhan offers an engaging performance, conveying a nuanced portrait of the characters' emotions and relationships. Siobhan's warm tone draws listeners in with a mix of heart and humor. VERDICT The charming tale of a woman who exchanges city life for the messy countryside. This heartwarming novel about life and community is a must for contemporary romance listeners.--Susan McClellan
